2006 Our Family Christmas Card
Almost fifteen years ago when my first son was born I was thrilled to discover a coupon in a package that was sent home with me from
the hospital for an 11x18 print that told interesting facts about the day my son was born. I had been disappointed earlier because
I forgot to have my husband buy a newspaper on the day Douglas was born, so this print was something I had to have. I wanted to record
those important events in his baby book so that we could look back on that day and remember what the world was like when he was born.
Years later I discovered some software that offered that same information and saw this as a potential business opportunity. As a stay-at-home
mom I had always wanted to start a home business to supplement our family's income. I decided to take the plunge and sell my keepsake scrapbook pages online. I had learned html a while back to create a hobby site and realized this was
something I could do. I also discovered a wonderful FREE online SEO Class that
has helped my website become search engine friendly and successful. Scrapits.com is the result of a lot of trial and error and hard work!
About a year ago I discovered digital scrapbooking. With six kids I had fallen way behind on my traditional scrapbooks
and found myself avoiding taking pictures just so I wouldn't have to scrap them. Now that I've discovered digital scrapbooking, I realized I
could buy premade digital scrapbook pages and
use them over and over. I hope to be caught up on all of my kids' scrapbooks by the end of 2007. Keep track of my progress by following my digital scrapbooking blog. The
Christmas card you see above was created digitally and I also made some calendars for family for Christmas that were very well received.
Recently I received a wedding invitation as a photocard with the couples photo on it along with all of their wedding information. I thought to myself "I can do that-that's just like making a digital scrapbook page!".
So, I've recently added a new product line. I now offer custom photo wedding invitations and photo engagement announcements.
I hope to add more themed photocards in the future so check back often!
